A COUPLED METHOD OF STATIC STRENGTH AND FATIGUE RELIABILITY ANALYSIS OF TRUSS SYSTEM

Abstract
Based on the theory of the structural reliability analysis and the structural cumulative damage by fatigue loads, the coupled reliability failure rule of the element considered static strength and fatigue is proposed, and the corresponding life time of the element for static strength failure is given. The mutual influence of static strength failure and fatigue failure are analyzed, and the coupled method for the reliability analysis of static strength and fatigue of a structural system is discussed. A numerical example is considered, the results show that the contribution of static strength failure and fatigue failure to the structural-system failure is different at different useful lives. The failure forms of elements in the significant failure paths have static strength failure and fatigue failure. It seems that a structure will be insecurity when a single factor is only considered, such as static strength or fatigue separately.
