Abstract:
In probabilistic fracture analysis, it is necessary to evaluate the mean values and variances of fracture parameters. The mean values are usually computed by normal finite element method while the variances are often obtained using stochastic finite element method. In this paper, an interpolation method for stochastic analysis of engineering elastic-plastic fracture is introduced. In the present method, the mean values and the variances of fracture parameters are computed with reference to a table, which has been set up in advance. It is shown that the computed results by the interpolation method are smaller than those by stochastic finite element method in sensitive zone.
